Lets focus on Aperture !

So as mentioned in my previous posts, Aperture is the control of the cameras' iris and this results in either really beautiful photos with blurry backgrounds or an unfocused mess of a picture.

Here's some tips on how to get your Aperture settings correct every time.

1. Judge the lighting situation of the setting - If the lighting situation of the scene is too bright they the best way to go is with a higher aperture setting. and vice versa. The reason for this is because the higher the F stop, the smaller the iris closes. restricting light, naturally.

2. Backgrounds! - Remember no matter what angle you shoot your subject with, there's always going to be a background ... well in the background. so depending on what you are aiming for your F stop can be used to blur our the background using a Low F stop or you could use a higher F stop to show the background if there is something important you'd like to capture.

3. Bokeh - No this is not an anime cartoon. Bokeh is when lights (such as fairy lights or multiple light sources) are blurred out to create a beautiful effect using the camera and without having to use editing Software.

4. Fixed Aperture - If you are shooting a wedding, I would recommend finding your perfect Aperture and sticking to it. Since I use a studio flash, I can keep my Aperture fixed because the flash compensates for any darkness my camera may pick up.

Along with Aperture Photo Editing is really important. No matter how good your photos can be on camera editing can be your most valuable skill.
